The similarities between the Fender Jaguar and the Fender Jazzmaster also extend to looks as well. Both guitars feature the original “offset waist” body that made the Jazzmaster so unique, as well as the same dual-circuit set up. Both guitars also share a similar floating tremolo arm, a feature that has become a strong selling point for both guitars. However, the Jaguar does have many of its own features such as a spring-loaded rubber string mute, a moving bridge, smaller single-coil pickups, and even RF shielding.

The Fender Jaguar also earned a large cult following, very similar to that of the Jazzmaster, largely through famous musicians using it. John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Brian Molko of Placebo, and even Kurt Cobain all used a Fender Jaguar at some point in their careers and some even stuck with it. In large due to the popularity boom that the celebrity usage caused, Fender also created several variations on the Jaguar and released them as different models. For example, there is the Fender Jaguar Special HH which is almost identical to the original Jaguar, but has chrome knobs and two Dragster humbucking pickups. Other models released were the Fender Jaguar Baritone Special HH, the Fender Classic Player Jaguar Special HH, the Fender Jaguar Baritone Custom, and the Fender Jaguar Bass.

The sound of the Fender Jaguar also shares some similarities with the Fender Jazzmaster as well, as it is a very clean treble sound and is best suited for surf rock, indie rock, or classical rock. The guitar can handle more aggressive and distorted styles slightly better than the Jazzmaster though, but it still makes the sound suffer slightly.

The Fender Jaguar is a very interesting guitar, because although it shares so many similarities with the Fender Jazzmaster, it still sounds and feels very different. However, as is with the Jazzmaster, the Fender Jaguar is really most suited for smoother, less processed music and if that is what you are playing, there is no doubt a Fender Jaguar would be perfect for you!

Upon first glance it appears that the most striking thing about the PRS Mira is it stunning mahogany body and rosewood fretboard, but upon playing it it becomes apparent that this is only touching the surface of what the Mira is. The most impressive thing about the PRS Mira is in fact it's tone. Unlike a lot of other guitars in the PRS line, the PRS Mira actually features a warmer, less aggressive tone then many other guitars as well as a smoother overall tone quality. However, as is with almost all the PRS guitars the Mira is easily customizable and can be adjusted to create almost any tone that you might desire. Also, thanks to the phase II low mass locking tuners, the Mira is very easy to tune and keep tuned for a long period of time.

As for the features the Mira offers, PRS once again goes over the top and gives us everything we could have asked for and more. It starts off with the expertly crafted mahogany body and rosewood fretboard and then keeps going, to locking tuners, brass posts, and even controls mounted on a scratch plate, a very unique and individual feature of the PRS Mira.

Besides making excellent guitars, PRS also does a great job of providing accessories and documentation to go along with every packaged guitar. The PRS Mira is no exception to this rule and also comes with a great deal of accessories and documentation. The largest accessory is of course the case, a sturdy three latch hard shell, all in black, which utilizes a black felt interior to protect your PRS Mira from nicks and scratches. Alongside the case is also great deal of documentation regarding your new guitar. These pieces of documentation start off at the beginning with a “guide to stringing” and information on adjusting various parts of the Mira, which although boring to the majority of experienced users, can still be of great use to any novice or experienced user who has a lapse in memory.

The most commonly used Jazzmaster today is a re-issue, the American Vintage '62 Jazzmaster. These guitars, although close to the original, still maintain a few key differences. The primary features of the '62 re-issue Jazzmaster are its 21 vintage frets, rosewood fretboard, maple neck, alder body, C shape neck, 2 single coil pickups, and floating tremelo. The American Vintage '62 Jazzmaster also comes in a variety of colors, such as 3-color sunbburst, olympic white, and black.

Although the Fender Jazzmaster can be utilized to play pretty much any style of music you could want, it truly excels at playing clean and undistorted. Due to its original marketing towards jazz musicians, the Jazzmaster possesses a much mellower and softer tone than most other guitars, as well as a very clean and unclipped sound. If you do chose to use distortion, be careful of your volume though, because the Jazzmaster was not designed to play very loudly, and certainly not very loudly with distortion. Its wiring is unique in the fact that it lacks a traditional pick up selector but does have 2 switches. The first switch allows you to use each pickup individually or use both pickups simultaneously. The other switch allow each pickup to reverse its phase allowing for a variety of tones. Reversing the phase could result in a very thin and light sound while syncing the phases can yield a more full bodied tone. The tremolo system on the mustang was an all new design by Leo Fender called the Fender Dynamic Vibrato which is very sensitive yet simple and is the most prominent feature of the Mustang. Now, the Fender Telecaster is known for its strong construction.  Traditionally, electric guitar necks are glued-on, but the Telecaster is bolted on.  In addition, the neck is made of a single piece of solid maple without a separate fingerboard.  The frets are pressed directly on the maple surface.  The hardware consists of two single coil pickups controlled by a three-way selector switch.  Each one has volume and tone controls.  The pick guard is secured with eight screws and the bridge has 6 saddlers that adjust.  This allows for independent length and height adjustment for each string.  They also feature a 22 fret board, opposed to the traditional 21 fret board.

Telecaster is known for its rich, bright tone. One of the secrets to the unique sound is the bridge pickup, with has more windings then the neck pickup. The solid body allows the guitar to output a clean treble sound while the lower and mid ranges are damped.  Many musicians emulate steel guitar sounds, which is great for country music.

Many musicians have fallen in love with the Telecaster sound.  Pink Floyd's lead singer/guitar player, Syd Batrrett (1949- 2006), put Telecaster on the map.  Today, Keith Urban, Andy Summers (The Police), and Brad Paisley all rock out on a Telecaster.
