This is an Orville Les Paul Standard The guitar is in excellent condition with only a chip on the back These Orville's are just superb value for money, if you don't know the history of them, here is what wiki says During the 1970s and the 1980s, certain Japanese Guitar companies using brand names such as Ibanez, T?kai, Burny, and Greco were making high quality copies of Fender and Gibson guitars. Some brands were sold only on the Japanese market, but other brands, such as Ibanez were exported from Japan. Fender and Gibson opened Japanese branch divisions to make guitars in Japan using the Fender/Squier or Gibson/Epiphone brand names for the Japanese market. Fender established Fender Japan in 1982 and contracted Yamano Gakki (?????) and Kanda Shokai (?????) to oversee the production and distribution of Fender Japan guitars in cooperation with Fender. Yamano Gakki (Gakki stands for musical instrument company) are one of Japan's largest musical instrument distributors/retailers and Kanda Shokai are one of Japan's largest musical instrument distributors. Gibson established Epiphone Japan in the early 1970s with the production and distribution being managed by Aria in cooperation with Gibson. The Aria and Gibson Epiphone Japan partnership ended in 1983 with the export Epiphone production moving to Korea and in 1987, Yamano Gakki obtained the Gibson and Epiphone dealership in Japan [1]. Yamano Gakki distributed Gibson and Korean Epiphone guitars and also produced a limited range of Epiphone Japan semi acoustic guitars in cooperation with Gibson. In 1988 Yamano Gakki decided to expand the Epiphone Japan model range to include solid body models as well as semi acoustic models. Gibson and Yamano Gakki decided not to use the Epiphone brand name for the expanded model range and so the Orville name was chosen instead. Orville is the first name of the Gibson corporation's founder Orville Gibson. When the Orville by Gibson series was launched in 1988, Gibson was also selling American-made Gibson guitars, Japanese-made Epiphone guitars, and Korean-made Epiphone guitars in Japan. The Orville by Gibson and Orville series were distributed by Yamano Gakki and were priced midway between the American-made Gibson guitars and the Korean-made Epiphone guitars. There were a number of changes to the Orville by Gibson and Orville model range between their beginning in 1988 and their end in 1998 that are shown in the Retail Release History section. The Orville series were discontinued in 1998 due to Gibson and Yamano Gakki deciding to export an expanded Epiphone model range that included solid body and semi acoustic models. Gibson and Yamano Gakki ended their relationship in late 2006. Rare 1991 Gibson SG Standard Celebrity!All Original Condition w/OHSC!This is a 1991 Gibson SG Standard Celebrity, built on August 4th at the Nashville, Tennessee plant. I think the Celebrity series consisited of a llimited run of 200 each of the SG Standard, Les Paul Classic, and Firebird V and all were produced during the month of August. All the guitars were ebony finish with gold hardware, and white control knobs and large white pickguard with "Celebrity" logo at the top. The SG Standard features include bound 22-fret ebony fingerboard with trapezoid inlay, dual covered humbucking pickups, tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Gibson Deluxe machines with keystone buttons. A blackface headstock with logo and crown inlays and a special white "SG" truss rod cover complete the look. Overall this '91 SG Celebrity is in excellent condition and could easily blow the roof off your house. Be careful, this is a dangerous weapon in the right hands! The top and front edges and contours are very clean, just some swirling in the finish and a small nick or two along the edges and near a control knob. There are a few larger dings on the back and a one half-inch long one near the cover plate that will catch your eye. Minimal buckle marks and scratches, however. A couple of small indents on the back of the neck near the 9th fret or so are inconsequential and look like the result of leaning against an amp. There is good-sized chip at the top edge of the back of the headstock that appears to have been touched-up pretty well. The action is ridiculously fast and this pair of humbuckers sounds incredible. Combined with the lightweight body you could play this one all night long. All the controls and electronics work perfectly and the gold-plated hardware is in terrific condition, too. For sale is a 2004 Les Paul Classic with Gibson '57 Classic pickups, giving an excellent thick sound. There is a tiny round mark under the scratchplate where the screw for the L-bracket has rubbed against the finish. With the scratchplate attached to the guitar this is not visible. The metal hardware is slightly tarnished (see photos). The serial number for this guitar is 040206. It has been played and some of the finish has worn off from pickmarks in between the pickups. There are no breaks or repairs and it has a fresh set of strings. There are a few bumps on it- one on the edge of the body and one on the back of the neck. they are pretty shallow and don't affect the playability. Part of Gibson's 2009 Limited Run Series, the Tribal V features a V-shaped mahogany body and set mahogany neck. The arrow-shaped headstock has a black overlay with white tribal graphics, and the Satin White body has black tribal paint pattern graphics. Other features include 22-fret ebony fingerboard with acrylic dot inlays, three-per-side locking Grover machines, Kahler Professional Series 2215K bridge/tremolo, dual exposed humbucker pickups (496R neck, 500T bridge), black speed knobs (master volume, master tone), three-way pickup switch, black chrome hardware, top-mounted jack, and Flying V-style truss rod cover with Gibson logo. Gibson built a limited edition run of 350 instruments in the Spring of 2009, this being # 203. Comes with the original, but a little beat up Gibson hardshell case and all paperwork and accessories as seen in the pictures. This guitar will be safely packed and shipped. A 2000 Gibson Flying V made at the Nashville plant. Cherry Red colour and with the original hard case of the time. Unaltered since I bought it new, this has only been gigged once. I've highlighted any flaws I can see; small ding to headstock and small scrape on the neck (each just about 2-3mm long), a couple of dents which haven't gone through the lacquer really but can still be felt (longest of these about 8mm long). Other than that, it's in seriously good condition due to lack of being played for anything other than some practice at home.

Bought this as a back up to my Custom,think it may have seen half a dozen or so gigs.Now the gigs are becoming less and less it never sees the light of day. Apart from a few minor surface dents there is no damage,the back is totally free of any buckle rash,dents,dings,scratches,etc.There is some tarnishing on one of the bridge posts and a very minor chip on the tip of the headstock. There is one cosmetic issue which was there when I bought the guitar.There is what appears to be small file grooves in the binding of some frets(see picture) plenty of life in the frets so I would not think they have been redressed,perhaps the original owner(s) had an issue with some sharp frets and was a bit careless,nevertheless purely cosmetic only visible close up and doesn't affect playability. The guitar comes with the original case which is undamaged and fully functional. This is a UK sale only.

Gibson ES 335 Highly figured, Cherry Red. Not a mark or blemish, bought by myself at the Gibson works in Memphis in November 2006 and imported. For sale is a 1957 reissue (1999 manufacture) Gibson ES-5 Switchmaster (and it's breaking my heart to list this). This guitar was the center piece of my collection, but alas I must sell it to help with the down payment for my house (houses are not cheap in southern California). Chances are that if you're reading this page you know what this guitar is all about, but just in case you don't...this is a hollowbody archtop classic Gibson...the same model made famous by Steve Howe of Yes on the Fraglie album. It features an excellent sunburst with a good flame to it. Rosewood fretboard with block inlays, 5 ply binding on the neck. 57 model humbuckers with volume & tone for each and the famous 1-2-3-ALL switch. This one is in all original condition (came with the Grover tuners). and comes in its original Gibson case. This guitar was purchased from MARS Music in Birmingham, Alabama back in 2001. Folks, my clear out continues. i have to admit this is a hard one to let go of, however there are bills to be paid and impending redundancy hanging over me so unfortunately something has to go. we have here my Gibson Les Paul Standard which i bought brand spanking new in 2006. I spent an entire Saturday afternoon in Guitarguitar in Edinburgh trying out Les Pauls, and after going through every single Les Paul in the shop, this was the guitar i kept coming back to. It just has tonnes of that mid range growl that you get from a Les Paul that no other guitar has. info from the serial no. checker on the Gibson website says:- s/n 001260494 Your guitar was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA January 12nd, 2006 Production Number: 194 I've used this guitar quite a bit since i got it. I have used it to record the majority of my guitar parts on the two albums by my band Vantage Point (available via iTunes and Amazon folks;o) ), and it has been one of my faithful gig guitars over the last 5 or so years. The guitar is fitted with active Seymour Duncan Blackout humbuckers which have Nickel covers in keeping with the traditional look of the guitar. The Seymours are powerful, clear, and unlike other active pick ups like EMG's they don't have that compressed tone. Seymour Duncan describe them as being like a JB set on steroids. The tones here are big open and chunky, and leads are searing hot. The neck pickup just sings. The guitar has a couple of little pin prick sized marks on the top which i've tried photographing but they're barely noticeable unless you're looking really hard for them. This Les Paul has a lovely flame Maple top, the usual Mahogany body/neck (it's a '60's style neck which is slightly slimmer than the '50's style neck), Rosewood fingerboard and is finished off in a rather tasty nitrocellulose Cherry Sunburst, and, although it has been well used, i have quite a light touch and it is set up with an incredibly low action so there's NO fret wear what so ever. There's a small nick on the back next to the control cavity (pictured), and there is some light belt rash causing the sheen to wear from the back slightly and there's a small crack next to one of the screws in the plastic jack plate holder which is pretty common on Les Paul's. there is one small scuff on the bottom edge around a centimeter long (again, see pics), which, again unless you're looking for it you'd probably not really notice. This guitar is in exceptionally good condition and comes complete with the Gibson hard case. It's got a plain black Levys strap with Nickel Schaller straplocks which i'll chuck in as well. I got a quote for posting this guitar (inc insurance) which was for £85 from Parcel force. so pick up would be preferred, although i could probably meet within reason. I'm in West Lothian at the moment, but work in Edinburgh, and i'm in Perth quite a lot too so i have a fair bit flexibility for meeting/delivering or picking up, or if you can get a cheaper quote for posting, although I'd prefer any post/courier to be insured as the last thing i want is for this guitar to be damaged in transit. Up for auction is my beautiful 1961 Gibson ES 335 Serial # 3613o. The guitar is in absolute superb condition, with only 2 little dings and no scratches. The finish is still vibrant and the guitar is a lightweight at 7.8lbs. It was bought in 1961 by professional guitar player Stuart Mitnik as you can see on the original receipt which is still in the case. He had it outfitted with an Epiphone-style Mastro Vibrola (His name is on it, if you look closer), but now it is outfitted with an early sixties Stop-Tailpiece. The original Vibrola Unit and Custom Made plaque with the original screws are includet. It is one of the very last A series serial numbers (17 before the last one issued: A-36147) and it also carries an early impressed number on the back of the headstock, making it likely from February of 1961.The guitar was sold in April 61. Andre Duchossoir has documented ES-335 #A36127 as also having two such numbers in his definative work, Gibson Electrics--The Classic Years. At one time the guitar had Schaller tuners, but now the original tuners are back on. (Looks like one of the tips was replaced) The PAF pickups sound terrific, everybody who plays the 335 is stunned and can't put it down. The Brazilian Rosewood fretboard has no divots and is in perfect condition, as are the frets. Stuart Mitnick used this guitar only in the studio and not on the road. That's the reason, the 335 is still in that beautiful condition. The neck has a nice c-shape and is not too big, just perfect. It comes with it's original Lifton case in good condition. All the latches work. This is the perfect find for ES335 lovers. Please as all the question you have before you bid. This is a no reserve auction. Description for Gibson Firebird V Electric Guitar (with Case) There is no mistaking a Gibson Firebird V--with its unique "reversed" zig-zag body design and equally distinct headstock, it is simply one of the most recognizable of all guitar profiles. First introduced in 1963, the Gibson Firebird was the brainchild of legendary automotive designer and visionary Ray Dietrich (Lincoln, Packard), enlisted by Gibson to bolster the guitar lines of the early '60s and help solidify the company's eminent rank among solidbody electric guitar manufacturers. Dietrich's unconventional design was based loosely on both the legendary automobile tailfins of the 1950s and the Gibson Explorer, which had been introduced several years earlier. The Gibson Firebird V's Angled Headstock The Gibson Firebird V's distinct headstock stays true to Gibson's industry-changing way of thinking. Like every Gibson headstock, the angled Firebird headstock is carved out of the same piece of mahogany as the neck. The angle is carefully set to 14 degrees--instead of the traditional 17 degrees--to accommodate the headstock's radical contour and to keep pressure on the strings. The headstock's form insures straight string pull, which, when combined with the increased string pressure, means there is no loss of string vibration between the nut and the tuners, equaling better sustain. Banjo-styled tuners provide the Gibson Firebird V with the necessary clearance between tuner buttons, allowing for comfortable access and uncomplicated tuning. This process takes craftsmanship, time, and effort, but the rewards are certainly worth the effort. The Gibson Firebird V Neck Profile No guitar neck profiles are more distinguishable than the neck profiles employed on the Gibson models of today. The more traditional '50s neck profile is the thicker, more rounded contour, emulating the neck shapes of Gibson's iconic models of the late 1950s. The '60s neck profile is considered the more modern, slim-tapered contour most commonly associated with the Gibson models of the early 1960s. The neck on Gibson's Firebird V has the best of both worlds--it is a hybrid between the '50s rounded contour and the '60s slim-taper profile. As with all Gibson necks, it is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. Once the fingerboard gets glued on, the rest--including the final sanding--is done by hand. That means there are no two Gibson Firebird V necks with the exact same dimensions. So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel. High-Output, Ceramic Mini Humbuckers On the Gibson Firebird V The introduction of the mini humbucker in the late-1960s served a growing need--the demand for a P-90-sized pickup with no hum. Gibson's world-class engineers set about creating a smaller, more compact humbucker to fit into the slot of a P-90. With its smaller size, narrow magnetic field, and unique design combination, the mini humbucker produces a bright and focused output, while still retaining Gibson's famous humbucker performance. The mini humbucker was first made available in several Gibson-made Epiphone models of the late 1960s, and the Les Paul Deluxe in the early 1970s. Today, it is best known as the pickup in the Gibson Firebird, and is a vintage replica of the original mini humbucker with bar Alnico II magnets. The Gibson mini humbucker is authentic in every detail, from its cream-colored plastic mounting and coated enamel wire, to its maple spacers and vintage braided lead wire. The tone is unmistakable Gibson. Neck-Through-Body Construction and Solid Mahogany Body On the Gibson Firebird V The Firebird V's multiple-wood-ply construction is as structurally and aesthetically innovative as any Gibson feature. The neck and center piece of the body are constructed from solid mahogany, as are the two wings that are glued on to each side to form the Firebird's distinct outline. Gluing all the pieces together insures maximum 'wood-to-wood' contact, and allows the neck and body to function as a single unit. This neck-through-body construction results in better tone and unsurpassed sustain, and no loose or misaligned necks. The regimen involved in selecting the Firebird V's wood and the formula to dry it out is closely controlled. First, the wood is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enters the factories. These onsite inspectors also insure that the plain maple comes from corporations adhering to the forest-saving standards of the Rainforest Alliance, of which Gibson is a proud member and sponsor. Inside the Gibson factories, humidity is maintained at 45 percent, and the temperature at 70 degrees. This insures all woods are dried to a level of 'equilibrium,' where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion, and controls the shrinkage and warping of the woods, in addition to reducing the weight. It also improves the woods' machinability and finishing properties, and adherence to glue. Consistent moisture content means that a Gibson guitar will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory. 1963 Gibson 140T, all original, no pickguard. neck is straight, binding in good condition. Action is a tad high as there is a small amount body compression at the bridge which is fairly common with full hollow bodies, but is still quite playable. It may need a neck re-set sometime in the future. Serial# is 116461.
