This is an Orville Les Paul Standard The guitar is in excellent condition with only a chip on the back These Orville's are just superb value for money, if you don't know the history of them, here is what wiki says During the 1970s and the 1980s, certain Japanese Guitar companies using brand names such as Ibanez, T?kai, Burny, and Greco were making high quality copies of Fender and Gibson guitars. Some brands were sold only on the Japanese market, but other brands, such as Ibanez were exported from Japan. Fender and Gibson opened Japanese branch divisions to make guitars in Japan using the Fender/Squier or Gibson/Epiphone brand names for the Japanese market. Fender established Fender Japan in 1982 and contracted Yamano Gakki (?????) and Kanda Shokai (?????) to oversee the production and distribution of Fender Japan guitars in cooperation with Fender. Yamano Gakki (Gakki stands for musical instrument company) are one of Japan's largest musical instrument distributors/retailers and Kanda Shokai are one of Japan's largest musical instrument distributors. Gibson established Epiphone Japan in the early 1970s with the production and distribution being managed by Aria in cooperation with Gibson. The Aria and Gibson Epiphone Japan partnership ended in 1983 with the export Epiphone production moving to Korea and in 1987, Yamano Gakki obtained the Gibson and Epiphone dealership in Japan [1]. Yamano Gakki distributed Gibson and Korean Epiphone guitars and also produced a limited range of Epiphone Japan semi acoustic guitars in cooperation with Gibson. In 1988 Yamano Gakki decided to expand the Epiphone Japan model range to include solid body models as well as semi acoustic models. Gibson and Yamano Gakki decided not to use the Epiphone brand name for the expanded model range and so the Orville name was chosen instead. Orville is the first name of the Gibson corporation's founder Orville Gibson. When the Orville by Gibson series was launched in 1988, Gibson was also selling American-made Gibson guitars, Japanese-made Epiphone guitars, and Korean-made Epiphone guitars in Japan. The Orville by Gibson and Orville series were distributed by Yamano Gakki and were priced midway between the American-made Gibson guitars and the Korean-made Epiphone guitars. There were a number of changes to the Orville by Gibson and Orville model range between their beginning in 1988 and their end in 1998 that are shown in the Retail Release History section. The Orville series were discontinued in 1998 due to Gibson and Yamano Gakki deciding to export an expanded Epiphone model range that included solid body and semi acoustic models. Gibson and Yamano Gakki ended their relationship in late 2006. For sale is a 2004 Les Paul Classic with Gibson '57 Classic pickups, giving an excellent thick sound. There is a tiny round mark under the scratchplate where the screw for the L-bracket has rubbed against the finish. With the scratchplate attached to the guitar this is not visible. The metal hardware is slightly tarnished (see photos). The serial number for this guitar is 040206. Bought this as a back up to my Custom,think it may have seen half a dozen or so gigs.Now the gigs are becoming less and less it never sees the light of day. Apart from a few minor surface dents there is no damage,the back is totally free of any buckle rash,dents,dings,scratches,etc.There is some tarnishing on one of the bridge posts and a very minor chip on the tip of the headstock. There is one cosmetic issue which was there when I bought the guitar.There is what appears to be small file grooves in the binding of some frets(see picture) plenty of life in the frets so I would not think they have been redressed,perhaps the original owner(s) had an issue with some sharp frets and was a bit careless,nevertheless purely cosmetic only visible close up and doesn't affect playability. The guitar comes with the original case which is undamaged and fully functional. This is a UK sale only.

Folks, my clear out continues. i have to admit this is a hard one to let go of, however there are bills to be paid and impending redundancy hanging over me so unfortunately something has to go. we have here my Gibson Les Paul Standard which i bought brand spanking new in 2006. I spent an entire Saturday afternoon in Guitarguitar in Edinburgh trying out Les Pauls, and after going through every single Les Paul in the shop, this was the guitar i kept coming back to. It just has tonnes of that mid range growl that you get from a Les Paul that no other guitar has. info from the serial no. checker on the Gibson website says:- s/n 001260494 Your guitar was made at the Nashville Plant, TN, USA January 12nd, 2006 Production Number: 194 I've used this guitar quite a bit since i got it. I have used it to record the majority of my guitar parts on the two albums by my band Vantage Point (available via iTunes and Amazon folks;o) ), and it has been one of my faithful gig guitars over the last 5 or so years. The guitar is fitted with active Seymour Duncan Blackout humbuckers which have Nickel covers in keeping with the traditional look of the guitar. The Seymours are powerful, clear, and unlike other active pick ups like EMG's they don't have that compressed tone. Seymour Duncan describe them as being like a JB set on steroids. The tones here are big open and chunky, and leads are searing hot. The neck pickup just sings. The guitar has a couple of little pin prick sized marks on the top which i've tried photographing but they're barely noticeable unless you're looking really hard for them. This Les Paul has a lovely flame Maple top, the usual Mahogany body/neck (it's a '60's style neck which is slightly slimmer than the '50's style neck), Rosewood fingerboard and is finished off in a rather tasty nitrocellulose Cherry Sunburst, and, although it has been well used, i have quite a light touch and it is set up with an incredibly low action so there's NO fret wear what so ever. There's a small nick on the back next to the control cavity (pictured), and there is some light belt rash causing the sheen to wear from the back slightly and there's a small crack next to one of the screws in the plastic jack plate holder which is pretty common on Les Paul's. there is one small scuff on the bottom edge around a centimeter long (again, see pics), which, again unless you're looking for it you'd probably not really notice. This guitar is in exceptionally good condition and comes complete with the Gibson hard case. It's got a plain black Levys strap with Nickel Schaller straplocks which i'll chuck in as well. I got a quote for posting this guitar (inc insurance) which was for £85 from Parcel force. so pick up would be preferred, although i could probably meet within reason. I'm in West Lothian at the moment, but work in Edinburgh, and i'm in Perth quite a lot too so i have a fair bit flexibility for meeting/delivering or picking up, or if you can get a cheaper quote for posting, although I'd prefer any post/courier to be insured as the last thing i want is for this guitar to be damaged in transit. 50th Anniversary 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard Version 2 Custom Shop in Sunset Tea BurstThis guitar is 1 of 500 of a limited run manufactured in 2010, and 1 of approximitely 170 which were finished in sunset tea burst. This one has the version 2 neck, which is somewhere between the thicker 1959 and thinner 1960's neck. The neck is still nice and chunky, and very comfortable. Please note that the original owner had this guitar (professionally) refretted because the original factory plekked frets did not suit his personal taste. Apart from the refret, this guitar is in excellent and original condition. It has been played, and has minor playwear which is impossible to capture in pictures. Included in the sale is the original case, which only has minor scuffs on it, and the "gold book" Certificate of Authenticity. I will also include a recent insurance valuation obtained from Vintage and Rare Guitars in Denmark Street, London, which sets you back £35. Major UK insurance companies will accept this for the purpose of insuring the guitar. I believe my price reflects the fact that the guitar is not in 100% original condition, due to the refret mentioned above. Beautiful instrument and lovely player to go to a good home. This one is very nice, all stock and comes with original certificate. I noticed that there seems to be a lacquer crack on the back of the neck, so I photographed it for the sake of transparency. A point to note is that the strings go over the tailpiece, not under it making it a much better player. I am currently into the fender thing and am looking for a nice Jazzmaster.

Here we have for sale a 1997 Gibson les paul classic plus in stunning heritage cherry sunburst complete with original gibson tkl hardshell case. The gibson classic plus range feature solid 1 piece mahogany body, hand carved maple top, crafted from top quality A+ grade premium tonewoods, 60's slim profile tapered neck with rosewood fretboard, pearl trapiezoid block fret markers, gibson deluxe tuners, all nickel plated hardware with tune o matic bridge system and stop bar tailpiece, cream bidning around the body and neck, nitrocelulose laquer, and all topped off with Gibson's highly acclaimed ceramic 496R (neck) + 500T (bridge) Which absolutely SCREAM! Guitar in fantastic all round condition but does show signs of play wear as it has been used, slight buckle rash on the back, few small marks on the edges of the body and a few small marks on the top of the headstock, all very small and superficial NO breaks, NO splits, NO repairs. The neck is straight as an arrow and smooth as silk all the way up and down the scale, The frets are MINT showing only very light signs of wear, fretboard and all inlays are perfect as are both the edges of the neck. Tuners are strong and stay in tune very very well even after hours of extreme bends etc, intonation is spot in with NO buzz at ANY of the frets and hosts a perfect professional set up with a great low action. All pots and tone controls working perfectly with NO crackles or unwanted buzzing, as is jack input. It plays absolutely fantastic, the neck is like butter all the way up and down the scale and with the slim 60's neck the licks just fly off the scale with blinding precision and ease. Since this guitar has had a proper chance to settle and has been properly played in and set up a few times now it is just perfect to play, I really have never played a better example. The sound and tone is second to NONE, the compilation of solid premium tone woods, nitro finish and gibsons ceramic pup's is simply astounding. The body resonated so well and the pups really do SCREAM! By far the best les paul available on the market today, puts standards to shame, and with this being an earlier 90's edition build quality is ro-nound to be far better than newer made Gibson guitars. This particular model actually plays and sounds much better than any custom shop I have had the pleasure of playing, it really does... Sold complete with original Gibson hardshell TKL case in brown with pink plush lining and shroud. Case a bit tatty but fully functional with no breaks and all latches working perfectly as they should. It has served its purpose well over the years. I am very reluctantly selling my 57 VOS Black Beauty. I bought this guitar new from Digital Village last year - after playing it in the shop I had to buy it. Unfortunately I'm having to sell some of my gear and this one is getting the chop, purely because I have a greater emotional attachment to my first Les Paul, a not quite so impressive sunburst Standard. I believe the pictures are very representative of it, the guitar is in excellent condition as I'm sure you can see. The only two things to note are a small amount of wearing on the back and pick guard from playing it, but more significantly there's a dent in near the jack plate which isn't too visible generally but I made sure it was visible in the pictures - the studio lights really bring this out. Still thinning out my collection. This is an original 1969 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top with the original Gibson yellow lined case in exceptionally fine condition. Serial number is 828### and pot codes 13769## which both date to 1969. She plays as good as she looks, fast low action on hardly worn frets with plenty of life still left in them. She sounds amazing, her P90 pickups give that wonderful old-wood tone that you usually only get with '50's Gold Tops. Plenty of power, sustain and harmonics when you crank her up, and a wonderful woody mellow tone when you roll back the volume. Her gold top is in excellent condition, just a few very minor dings, some play wear at the top of the lower bout, and quite a bit of finish checking, which is everywhere else also. Her bindings have all aged to a lovely creamy-yellow, and she has some dings and playwear generally all over which can be seen in the pictures. Fittings have the normal ageing and wear you'd expect for her age. She has no breaks, cracks or repairs. Her original kluson tuners and buttons work just fine, and her yellow lined case is in extremely good condition with all latches working. Please ask any questions. I have promised to get rid of half what I have, no point in arguing "No, I can't play them all at once", "No, I don't need them all to do a gig, and you're right, even if I did they wouldn't go in the car" and "Yes, that is why I sold the band van, to downsize on what I need to keep". So, I am keeping a Rectoverb, Dual Rectifier and Cab, my Trace acoustic amp, PA, recording studio but a handful of guitars have to go. This will include: Yamaha CPX-5; Taylor 210-CE Gibson Les Paul Joe Perry; Gibson Les Paul 58 Re-issue Heritage H150-CM (Les Paul) Here is the Joe Perry - I bought it off someone who hasn't played it (owner from new) and expecting to keep it for posterity. I bought it because I thought it would go well with my Trans Black Heritage H535/335 Semi, but decided it was too nice to be risked as a stage guitar. So, it has been kept in the guitar cupboard almost forgotten. It comes with the letter from Gibson/Joe Perry and the correct Gibson case with a shroud bearing Joe's signature and the Aerosmith motif. Gibson 1958 Les Paul Plaintop Reissue VOS Historic R8 - Faded Tobacco - 2007 Objects of distinction are seldom recognized immediately, and this was certainly the case when Gibson introduced the newly renamed Les Paul Standard in July of 1958. Having already made several modifications to the base Les Paul Model guitar over the previous two years – the Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece being the most notable changes – the new Les Paul Standard introduced in 1958 hoped to correct Gibson’s waning sales of solid body electric guitars, which had been on the decline ever since 1953 when the company shipped 2,245 instruments.Extended Description of the Gibson Custom 1958 Les Paul Plain Top VOS--> “This guitar now has a rich, rubbed appearance that cannot be equaled at any price … this instrument is a true beauty.” — Gibson Gazette, December 1958Body For the 1958 Standard Plaintop, Gibson decided to arrange the maple top in two “bookmatched” pieces glued together at the centre seam, giving each guitar its very own distinct look and marking the beginning of the guitar world’s fascination with figured maple tops, even though the majority of the tops used in 1958 were considered “plain” when compared to the tops used one year later and beyond.Finish Legendary Gibson president Ted McCarty and his staff partly blamed the guitar’s Goldtop finish as the main culprit for the sales slump and decided to forego the finish in favour of new, brighter finish dubbed Cherry Sunburst, which allowed the natural beauty of the maple top to be showcased – something that had previously been concealed by the Goldtop finish. Additionally, Cherry Sunburst was the only colour other than Gold that was used to finish the new Les Paul Standards in 1958, even though clear differences in the colour of vintage examples would suggest otherwise. These variations were due mainly to the inconsistency of the red pigment used by Gibson to paint the sunburst finish, a problem that wasn’t corrected until the early 1960s and which caused many of the guitars to fade to some degree of amber, honey or yellow hue. This “problem” inadvertently led to the creation of many of the finishes used today on numerous Gibson guitars, including Honey Burst, Tobacco Burst, Light Burst, Iced Tea Burst, Lemon Burst, Vintage Sun Burst and, of course, the original Heritage Cherry Sun Burst.Near-perfect Recreation The 1958 Les Paul Standard reissue produced today by Gibson Custom is true to all of the original instrument’s features and characteristics, including Gibson’s traditional hand-carved “plain” maple top and solid, non-weight relieved mahogany body. The headstock is made from Holly head veneer, as opposed to fiber, just like it was in 1958, and the vintage-style tulip tuners are mounted in a straight line, also as they were on the original. The 24 ¾-inch scale length neck is made from one solid piece of mahogany, and attached to the body using a long neck tenon — one of the Les Paul’s more distinguishing characteristics of the 1950s. The neck is topped by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard outfitted with acrylic trapezoid inlays matching the size and colour of the originals. Of course, two of Gibson’s legendary Burstbucker pickups deliver all the subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone by using historically “unmatched” bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets. Other historical appointments include CTS potentiometers, bumble bee capacitors, rolled crème-coloured fingerboard binding, single-ply thin binding around the body, and period-correct switchwasher and jackplate. The 1958 Les Paul Standard comes in either a V.O.S. or Gloss finish, and with the standard Gibson Custom case and certificate of authenticity.
